Performedia is committed to making hybrid and virtual events inclusive and accessible to users of all abilities. Our solutions are compatible with various assistive technologies, have alternative methods to help attendees consume multimedia content, and participate during live hybrid and virtual events.
Performedia strives to adhere to the Web Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2. Our products are currently partially compliant with version 2.2, level AA. These guidelines help designers and developers make web products usable for people with disabilities. We test our products for accessibility using automated testing software, assistive technologies, and manual testing methods.
Attendees of hybrid and virtual events who use screen readers to navigate the web or mobile sites can now use our digital event software seamlessly. Performedia's event portals and streaming platform are built and tested to work with screen reader software, alternative input methods, and assistive technology.
Audio descriptions are verbal narrations provided during multimedia presentations that describe key visual elements that do not have audio cues. They enable attendees with vision impairments and learning disabilities to perceive content that is not spoken. Performedia's online and onsite media players have secondary audio tracks that enable the use of audio descriptions for live and on-demand content.
Captions, multilingual subtitles, multilingual player controls, and transcripts are integrated into our media player. Performedia integrates real-time closed captions generated by a stenographer or AI software during a live stream and for on-demand content. Attendees can choose from a list of available languages for media controls and subtitles.
Whether a sign language interpreter is on-site or joining through Zoom, our media player integrates the toggle-able sign language window during a live stream. The interpreter’s feed is embedded in the main video feed during a live stream so viewers can see both the main content and the interpreter simultaneously. The interpreter’s video is synchronized with the event’s audio to avoid delays and mismatches.
An accessible chat feature integrated within the media player for hybrid and virtual attendees enhances real-time attendee engagement. Our integrated chat interface works seamlessly with screen readers and keyboard users and has moderator features to manage inappropriate content and maintain a respectful environment.
